Demolition continues and the floor plan is modified

We met with the engineer today about how we will be able to vault our roof and learned that we’ll need one vertical support in our space. So, to make it look planned, we’ll put two and have a low bar between them.

They continued the demolition and removed the kitchen cabinets.

The laundry room “to be” has also had the paneling removed. It was not the beautiful paneling that was in the main living area, so we won’t be saving it.

The walls look really green in this picture, but it isn’t. Just the lighting, I guess, or lack of lighting!

Research – fireplaces and stone

I have been doing a great deal of research for our new home.

I visited the fireplace store to see double sided fireplaces (WOW!) and you can control the fire with a thermostat. It is programmable and has all the bells and whistles. It even can be set to automatically come on and off at different times of the day.

Today I visited Luck Stone in Pineville. That was amazing. I may have found one stone that is about $3 square foot and it’s called Blue Ridge.

Chilton Rustic is another that was gorgeous.

I also saw one called Hickory Lake Ledgestone that is beautiful online, but I have not seen in person.
