Kitchen Beam Arrives and the Ceiling is Underway!

When I arrived at my home the other day I saw a HUGE surprise in my front yard!

This beam is 737 pounds. It is angled on one end to slide into the angle the roof makes with the walls. Nice touch, eh? You too can own a beam like this one for only $1250. Not sure if that includes delivery!

They are using only two men and some cool engineering tricks to get this up and in place. The mechanism is called a “come along” or a ratchet lever hoist.
